A Message from Shelby ~
"Why I Campaign for Goodness and Love
"

I believe in choosing love over fear
Loving ourselves and each other, instead of being fearful, is the only way we are going to heal our broken families, connect with ourselves and our God in any meaningful way, and find balance in our own lives.  Embracing love as a lifestyle and being fearless is the only way we are going to fix political injustices, return to humanitarian values over economic ones, and make right the world.

John Lennon once said, “There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance." He goes on to say, "We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life." This is why I campaign for love. This is why I campaign for goodness. I am an open-hearted co-creator, embracing life to give rise to a better world.

I believe in thriving over surviving
For as long as I can remember,  I have enjoyed making people feel special mostly because it provides a sense of belonging.  I know all too well about the need to belong, going to 21 schools throughout my primary education -- I was always the "new girl,"  constantly uprooting and starting over.  Those early years were challenging as my single mom, just 17 years older than me, struggled to support us both.  It would have been easy for me to give in and shut down because living in constant survival is exhausting.  It can change who you are if you let it.  It can make you resigned and negative, and fearful.

But luckily as a teenager, I attended my first "self-help" seminar in the early 80s where I gained strength and overcame the urge to being a victim of my circumstances. I grew up talking about what was possible rather than just what was happening, and I learned that when I took responsibly for what I saw, thought and felt about what was happening, I had choices. I learned how to thrive and not just survive.

I believe in campaigning for good over buying into negativity
I have been actively campaigning for good for over thirty years. Every course, every workshop, every business, every partner, has been a campaign for good.  I am passionate about the goodness in humanity, in the bonds that bring us together, in the possibility of a bright and shiny abundant future. I know that bad news sells because the amygdala in our brains is always looking for something to fear, that it's in the media's best interest to overemphasize the bad, and that because of our outdated "local brain" we are predisposed to pessimism.

But the truth is, to quote space entrepreneur turned innovation pioneer, Peter Diamandis, “The future is better than you think!”  And I want to talk about that good stuff, and shine a light on the people making that difference. Our outdated, pessimistic DNA, and local and linear wiring in our brains is shifting and it doesn't stand a chance against the global and exponential reality of our world.

I am passionate about raising and educating conscience and empowered children, about staying connected to my Self and my higher power. I am passionate about love and communication, and my relationship to all things. I am passionate about taking care of my body and fueling my heart, about caring for our planet and being a trusted steward. Yes, I acknowledge that we have real problems in our world, but there is so much good in it too, and amazing everyday people doing extraordinary work within it. That is where I choose to put my focus, because like-minds attract like-minds.

Why I believe in these things
Albert Einstein proved that as we break matter down into smaller and smaller components, we move beyond the material world and into the place where everything is simply energy. This is the Law of Vibration. In the natural Law of Vibration, the lower the vibration, the slower something moves; the higher the vibration, the faster it moves. The same is true for emotions and thoughts. Fear, grief, pessimism and despair vibrate at a very low frequency, while love, joy, and gratitude vibrate at a much higher one.

When the mind is thinking positive thoughts and the heart is producing high level emotions like love and joy, they create an energy together that is transmitted globally.  New York Times best-selling author and health and wellness expert, Deborah King says, “When you are steeped in unconditional love -- the highest emotional vibration -- all your atoms are singing the song of life at its highest. You are no longer part of the problem; you are part of the solution to the problems of the planet.”

A Wellness Ambassador is born
One of my inspirations, author and lecturer Marianne Williamson, once said that we cannot transform the world without transforming ourselves. Interesting. I had been doing transformational work since I was 15 years old, and that work was very cerebral. About 15 years later, I dropped down from my head into my heart, and started exploring femininity and the dynamics of male/female relationships. This heart-centered approach to life was very refreshing. But 15 years later, there was still a disconnect. I often found myself at the effect of group dynamics and people’s moods, and even though I knew in my head and my heart it had nothing to do with me, I still felt it. Then it hit me, my body didn’t know it had nothing to do with me. My body was absorbing on it's own. My body and I were not connected.

Growing up with the ability to sense people's feelings and emotions, it became important that I did what I could to make people happy, to ease their pain, to raise their vibration if you will. This was my job at a very early age. For the untrained empath however, that kind of responsibility can put tremendous stress on the body, and mine was no exception. I suffered from migraines and was on three daily medications to keep them at bay. Then I found intuitive meditation and within six months I was drug free. I learned which energy was mine and which wasn’t. I learned neutrality and how to separate myself from others, and I gained tools to help me heal and release.  I started intensely studying spirituality, the journey of the soul, even channeling an archangel. Then in March of 2016 I learned that I had metastasized breast cancer in my body for the last 8 to 10 years. This is when it all clicked for me...my mind, body, and soul needed to all connect...it was really time to start living in alignment!

The short of it
I became a self-proclaimed Wellness Ambassador because EVERYTHING I have done over the last 30 years is interconnected with the eight dimensions of health and well-being -- mind, body, spirit, heart, people, planet, abundance and contribution --  and because I can talk about all eight dimensions with not only experience, but enthusiasm. I love the picture I see when I think of wellness as wholeness -- grounded, connected beings living well-rounded, happy, healthy lives.

Today I am passionate about integration and putting ideologies into everyday practice.  I am passionate about sharing information and making the abstract tangible; and I am passionate about helping people find their own alignment and transformation to elevate the vibration of the planet and make right the world with love and neutrality.

So, now that you know my story, what’s yours? What are you passionate about? What's your open-hearted vision? What do you campaign for? Share with me.
